21 October 2010, The third Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition returned to Qatar this year. Held at the DEC Doha Exhibition Center, from 12-14 October 2010, the event attracted a record attendance of over 1700 attendees from more than 38 countries, and included a comprehensive conference programme, exhibition and a technical plant tour.
The Conference and Exhibition was officially opened by H.E. Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Premier and Minister for Energy & Industry, on 12th October which attracted a capacity audience with His Excellency confirming during his address that Doha would continue to support future Offshore Middle East events run by PennWell Petroleum Group.
Mubarak A. Al-Hajri, Offshore Operations Manager of Qatar Petroleum, event hosts, also stated during the opening keynote that he was delighted to see Offshore Middle East back in Doha this year and hoped that Doha would be the permanent venue for this conference & exhibition in future.

Offshore Middle East 2010 delivered innovation, technology, new enterprises and partnerships. The event also enabled local and international companies to explore first-hand, opportunities for future investment in the oil and gas market plus the latest technology and expertise from around the world.
Over 25 speakers from leading organizations around the world presented the very latest knowledge and technology within the oil & gas exploration and production industry.
The conference sessions were attended by over 600 delegates, and covered an array of topics ranging from Reservoir Monitoring & Control to Offshore Safety & Environmental Concerns.
Show highlights included a well attended Welcome & Operators Perspectives session which included presentations by Dr. Faisal Bin Fahad Al-Thani, Deputy Managing Director, Maersk Oil Qatar, Andrew Brown, Executive Vice President, Qatar Shell, and Philippe Guys, Country Representative and Managing Director for Total in Qatar.
Additional highlights were the Gas Production Challenges and Solutions session, chaired by Ahmad Al-Khajah, Qatar Petroleum, and the Flowline & Pipeline Management session, chaired by Ahmad Al-Hemaidi, both of which received great attendance and strong debate.
